Don't Squander the Wander!

A refuge for all who are wandering through the wilderness and tethered to the truth

Dig, girl, dig

You gotta dig down deep to get to the foundation, if you want to rebuild it right. Can’t start at the surface. Can’t do it from half-way up. Can’t even rebuild from the place you can get to in your own strength.

Like the archaeologist who starts out moving buckets of built up earth, getting to the place where you see a little speck of the goal. Do they stop there? No way. They change tools. The equipment has to fit the moment. The process gets more tender. More focused. More intentional. Instead of presuming what is there, they see the reality of what is actually visible.

The truth of the reality demands new tools. Drives the communication. The little brushes come out when you get to the goal. A light brush here, a soft blow of air there, just enough to fully expose the treasure that you seek. In our lives, this is the God moment. Where any effort on our part, any begging, pleading, praying, claiming, intervening, forgiving, or declaring ceases. We sit in awe of the truth unsurfaced, and realize that all that stuff had its place.

But God is doing a new thing.

Now, in this moment of breakthrough, God is saying here it is, laid bare and down to the truth He always had, and only He can do the last little bit. Only God can say where the foundation really is, because He is the one who laid it.

Only Jesus can say, ok child, I know this whole thing has been a million buckets of mess. I know you feel dirty from the dig, and exhausted from the fight. I know you are a  sweaty mess from all this pressure and heat you’ve worked through. I see the process that gets everywhere, and you are tired of tracking all that dirt with you, but its over. You’ve finished this part of the trial. But it isn’t forgotten. It isn’t done. It’s only begun.

Breakthrough comes from a place of breaking through. Sounds simple, but it is anything but simple. Breaking through is a deep, physical, sometimes violently emotional journey of removing all the lies of the enemy. Taking down all the strongholds that took root, the lies that built this tower of discouragement, guilt and shame. Removing the pride, death, and destruction that the enemy leaves in his wake. While we could spend the rest of our lives looking for reasons and demons and excuses and intercessors, I will leave that for other people to explain.

My heart is to walk with you in newness of life. To lay down all that mess. Let the buckets get hauled off by the love, grace, and mercy of God. Let the Holy Spirit whisper into your ear the truth you have always known. You are forgiven. You are loved. You are good. You are seen. You belong. You are His.
